9/29 - 9/30 After completing your test, you are going to create a comic strip that details the story of your journey through the rock cycle. Below I have given you your rock's story...you just have to be creative and create a comic strip. Your rock can have a personality and talk or you can be talking about the rock . You will complete a comic strip at www.makebeliefscomix.com. When you finish, you will need to email it to me at [email protected].

1. Watch the Geologic Time Scale video and thoroughly answer the questions below. Feel free to take any additional notes you wish so that you have a firm grasp on the material in the video.

2. How long have human beings been living on the earth?
3. What is the total amount of time dinosaurs lived on earth?
4. How old is the oldest recorded fossil?
5. What are the eras on the geologic time scale?
6. What evolved first, birds or fish?
7. Which era do we live in?
8. Which era is the oldest?
9. In which era did dinosaurs become extinct?
10. In which era did the great extinction on earth take place?
(If the video gives you trouble, you can log onto Discovery Ed and search Earth Science the Basics Earth's Geologic History...it should be 15 min 30 secs or so)
