EARTH HISTORY CLASSWORK:
9/29 - 9/30 After completing your test, you are going to create a comic strip that details the story of your journey through the rock cycle. Below I have given you your rock's story...you just have to be creative and create a comic strip. Your rock can have a personality and talk or you can be talking about the rock . You will complete a comic strip at www.makebeliefscomix.com. When you finish, you will need to email it to me at [email protected].

FOSSILS TASK 3:
BLUE:
Option 1: Use a Chromebook (or an iPad if you choose) to create a worksheet to review fossils. This worksheet needs to include all of the types of fossils covered in the notes. You need to also include an answer key for the worksheet.
Option 2: Use ExplainEverything on an iPad to create a review video covering all fossils topics. Include as many pictures and examples as possible.
BLACK: Evidence Chart - Click HERE or go to http://bit.ly/FOSSILevidence to begin. Go through the webquest to find information about the types of evidence we have about Earth's past as well as what it tells us.
SILVER: Is It A Fossil?! Activity - Complete the questions on the worksheet provided. Use the photos to help guide your answers. Don't forget to specify which TYPE of fossil each one is!

FOSSILS TASK 1:
Fossils Foldable (Silver) - Your foldable needs to have a definition and a small picture of the six main types of fossils discussed: original remains, carbon films, index fossils, casts & molds, trace fossils, petrified wood.
The Mystery Fossil Bones Activity (Black) - Click the link to see the activity worksheet as well as a copy of the bones printout. Use this to guide your group work for the activity.
How My Fossil Formed (Blue) - Given the fossil you were assigned, create an ExplainEverything presentation explaining what the fossil is, what it once was, how it formed, what it tells us about Earth's past, etc.

FOSSILS TASK 1 QUIZ
9/11 - 9/12
Today, we began with a warmup about the types of rock and the rock cycle. Then we completed our Earth's Layers Foldable. If there was time left, we began the Rock Cycle Roundabout game.
9/9 - 9/10
Today we did an "EDUCAMP" warmup/review of our notes. Most classes had three groups with discussions centered on 1. plate tectonics and plate boundaries, 2. Pangaea and continental drift, or 3. the layers of the earth. We then review our Science Process quiz, followed by creating student folders and an Earth History Mastery sheet complete with information from our pre-test results. If we had time, we wrapped up class by beginning the Earth's Layers Foldable.
9/5 - 9/8
Today we reviewed science processes before taking a Science Process Quiz. After the quiz, we took the Earth History Pre-Test. While we took the pre-test, we unpacked the content in our Science Notebooks on pg. 17. If you missed the quiz or the pre-test, you will need to schedule a time (within 5 days) to make them up OUTSIDE of class time.
